Why does it take a long time to open the result of scanning a disk with R-Studio?

Seagate 3TB portable drive was formatted after it was no longer detected by the computer. Then it was scanned by the R-Studio data recovery program, which took one day. After scanning, sections were offered to view the list of files available for recovery, the first of which cannot be entered, or rather, the program reflects the time for data processing in the amount of more than three days. Previously, I have already recovered data from another external drive, 500 GB, but after scanning it, it took me no more than one minute to open the list of files and directories available for recovery.
Please tell me whether it is worth waiting for the disk structure to be opened within a few days or whether this will not lead to success in any case, i.e. drive not suitable for data recovery? Thank you!

Apparently last time you restored files after deletion, while the directory structure was already known and rstudio scanned only directories.
Now, after formatting, you need to scan each sector in search of file system structures, then in search of the directory tree structure

Depends on what the disk was filled with.
It's one thing if movies were stored on it, another thing if it was packed to capacity with logs and documents, there can be millions of files and pieces of files without any structure.
This is, of course, provided that the disk is in perfect order.
Although you wouldn't use R-Studio on a failed drive.

formatting, then scanning - obviously will not speed up the process
ps Stopped being detected due to lack of power or media failure?
