Why does chrome hang in Ubuntu on pages with ajax?

It hangs on Facebook pages, tracksflow, various online services, such as wireframe.cc RealTimeBoard roomle.com and with the number of open tabs over 5.
firefox flies under the same conditions, and chrome starts swapping like crazy. It hangs for 30-40 seconds.

1. Disable all extensions
2. Disable PDF, Java, Flash plugins

chrome://plugins/

3. Enable/disable hardware acceleration

chrome://flags/ 

4. Open in different windows, in the first one:

chrome://memory-redirect/

in the second: a hanging site, see what's going on.
5. Run Chrome from the linux console, look at the messages in the console.
6. Hardcore. Run in console

strace /path/to/chrome/binary

there will be many letters
