Why does bios hang in the post screen when connecting an SSD drive?
Hello!
There is a SATA SSD drive. I suspect it doesn't work. I want to load a bootable USB flash drive and do diagnostics.
The problem is that when you connect the disk, bios freezes.
Why is this happening? After all, if the disk does not work, then according to the idea it should not be determined, and if it works, then it should be displayed normally in the BIOS.
ps The light that indicates the operation of the disk does not blink, but glows constantly.

maybe in some universe it works like that, but in our system it detected the presence of a device, but when asked for its name, the device answers that it is busy, hence the hang.
IMHO, even without software diagnostics, it is clear that it is time to change the sata cable, switch the disk to another port on the motherboard, and then throw it away after all this has not helped.
