Why does a domain name take so long to renew?

For almost a week now I have been waiting for a response from reg.ru regarding the renewal of the domain (.im zone).
Their answer is this:

Your question is being resolved, please wait for a response to your application. Our specialists are clarifying the possibility of renewing a domain with an international registrar.

This is the first time I've encountered the fact that domain renewal takes so long.
In the list of domains, it is no longer displayed in my personal account, there is some kind of dregs in the issuance of whois.

Why don't you renew yourself? They put money in, chose a domain, clicked to renew and there are no problems! But littleguga rightly said, reg.ru those are still bugs.
