Why does 8k video slow down?
Help me figure it out, I downloaded an 8k video from YouTube, converted it to mpeg-4 (it turned out 15 GB), but the video lags very badly when played in QuickTime player. I watched foreign forums, where people have everything flying even on the timeline in fcpx. What am I doing wrong? Device: MacBook Pro 16" core i7, amd 5300m

Why did you convert? Youtube has h265 video codec, and MacBook has built-in hardware decoder.
Well, if there are problems - use a proxy.
And yes, always use the latest software version.
