Why do you need to google in English?

I myself have been working as a programmer for over 20 years. I know English quite well, but for some reason it is much easier for me to find answers to questions through Yandex in Russian. I usually find answers to my questions, or create a discussion in the Toaster if I need to ask questions to those who have already done this.

Explain to me why a programmer should google in English? I don't mind, I just want to understand what it is for.

I understand that in the bourgeoisie information appears earlier regarding programming, and of course, if a specific question is about new technologies, then even I myself climb into a foreign Internet, but only if I make sure that Yandex does not give any answers in Russian. But this doesn't happen often.

Why is it in English? After all, even though you know English there, you know Russian better, which means you will understand more in Russian than in English.

As far as I can see, your question has recently been actively resolved automatically.
The web is littered with sites that are clumsy machine translations of StackOverflow and other popular English professional sites.
Understanding what they translated there is often more difficult than just reading the original.

Is someone forcing you? If you don't want it, don't google. Possible reasons you wrote in the question.
After all, even though you know English there, you know Russian better, which means you will understand more in Russian than in English.
On the contrary, it is more convenient to operate with terms in one language, and in programming this is English. It's easier for me to search in English than to try to figure out how to translate what I need.

Explain to me why a programmer should google in English?

Well, technically, he owes nothing to anyone.
The main reason why I google in English is that 90% of the documentation is in English. And yes, I’m just google, because Yandex, in matters of searching for technical texts, if not a complete city, then in general is somehow too humanitarian.
The correspondence between the translated into Russian and the original English documentation is even still from the category of "hug and cry", and the translators of error messages in general should have been strangled in infancy.
So, entering a phrase in their language, and if I’m sure somewhere, then framing it with double quotes, I will find the right one much faster.

In general, there are no more reasons - only to skip the step with "it is not in Russian."

From a certain level of learning English, you stop thinking what language you google in, and given the English syntax of most current languages, the question for searching in English sometimes comes to mind before the corresponding question in Russian. Therefore, to be honest, I often don’t even notice that I’m starting to google in English.
The second reason is a crooked translation. It is good if only a comment is translated in the information found, and not the terms themselves, but it is sometimes difficult to understand the translated terms by translating them back into English.
The third reason - approximately 200 million Russian-speaking population of the Earth against a billion (or even more) English speakers - is simply more likely that someone in English has already written an answer, unlike Russian.

And I remember Zadonov with his "In English, everything is simple - I love you, and the words cannot be rearranged. And how many options are there in Russian?" So much for RTFM...
What can I add here? Well, except that the programmer MUST know the English language.

I myself have been working as a programmer for over 20 years.

It is strange to ask such a question after 20 years of experience) All target information, all new features, standards, critical information - everything is in English, and 20 percent of information (junior-premiddle level) is in Russian, and then translated either belatedly or by enthusiasts - educators. As a rule, the most complex, narrowly focused information, either in English, or from a fellow senior or architect, but in the form of word of mouth and poking your nose into the code.
English for a programmer is one of the must-have skills, because swimming in the pool of the Russian language all your life, and having studied English to an intermediate level, you swim out into a boundless sea of new information, and a less toxic community.

IMHO English words and phrases can be more succinctly, briefly describe the essence of the problem in programming (at least for a search engine) and, accordingly, get a more relevant selection in Google. Keywords, common phrases will help.
Also, Google's algorithms, although perhaps a little, seem to work better than those of Yandex.
And of course there is more information, for every taste. Just need to put a little more interest in the English language itself. Any programmer is already a linguist to some extent :)

It's not just that information in English appears earlier.
Information in Russian may be incorrect or incomplete. After all, those who translate often do not pay due attention to accuracy, the correspondence of terms, omit "insignificant" details, and so on. Often the translation is done only for the sake of filling your site that sells some services.

Why is it in English?

Because all programming, everything in general, starting with Babbage's machine - it is - all of a sudden - in English! Trying to be a programmer and not knowing English, not reading the docs and not googling errors is like being a doctor/lawyer/catholic priest and not knowing Latin.
Docks in Russian are always transferable, exceptions are scanty. Yes, when you need to learn a lot of new material, I will read the basic things in the topic in Russian (the speed of perception is higher), and the details only later - usually in English.
Why Google and not Yandex? Google does a better job of searching in English, as well as searching in the English-speaking world. Yandex - searches better in Russian and in the "red" segment.
Again, if the request is somehow related to politics, Google and Yandex will give different results, this has long been noticed.
