Why do some services require a photo of a passport and a card?
I don’t understand why, when adding a card for payment, some services ask for a photo of the card next to the rights or passport. Fraud or real troubles on the security of the service? How safe is it to provide such photos?

An additional measure of protection, services protect themselves from scammers who steal card data.
They need a photo to make sure that you are the owner of the card.
If someone pays with a stolen card, and then the real owner disputes the payment, the service will have to return the entire amount and pay a fine for chargeback.
