Obviously, to do what the server will cry about, and still add the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header to it. If there is no access to the site, then you will not be able to fix it specifically.

Serious employers just give a test task more often.
If you are a cool specialist and can choose offices, then just kick open the door to the director's office.
If you are a beginner and you have no choice - a completely different question.

To weed out those who are not suitable immediately, without wasting time on them in the form of communication.
This is normal practice.
Only the test task should be either in terms of execution time for a maximum of 1-2 hours, and if more, then it should be paid.
Of course, if you are asked to complete the task for 8+ hours and they say that the test task is not paid - go away from them.

You just have no idea how much slag comes to interviews.
Moreover, we can talk about serious vacancies and complete slag at the same time.

Why do some employers give a test task before an interview, and is it worth it?

Distrust is a fundamental and integral part of culture. How do they know that you are not lying, but really know how to do what you say? They see you for the first time and know nothing about you. Plus, people like you respond to a vacancy from 5 to 10 people a day (conditionally).
Here is a test task and will show with whom it is worth starting to work, and with whom they will refuse.
Going for it is worth it if the test task does not take much time.

Why do some employers give a test before an interview?

Immediately rushed the word some. In my opinion, if the employer does not give test tasks, this already gives reason to think about what it makes sense to associate with this organization.
The fact that you are given a test task is a normal situation. This procedure is designed to weed out non-professional people. Many go to a job with the confidence that he/she knows this technology, language or platform to perfection and can work in the position for which the vacancy is advertised. The test task will weed out such people.
And in addition, I will say that the test task is just the first stage in getting the coveted position :)

Tests before admission to the interview is generally a normal practice.
