Why do screenshots show two screens under Ubuntu?

Ran into a strange issue on Ubuntu 15.10.
When creating a screenshot, a snapshot of "as if" two screens is taken, see:

How to fix it? The system is on a laptop.

In settings find displays and select left display

1. Disable one screen.
2. Trim with handles (in GIMP).
