Why do screen blackouts happen?

I like to watch movies online and from time to time (on different sites and movies) the monitor began to turn off right in the middle of the movie. And the sound goes, and the screen is black and even the inscription "cable is not connected" appears. There are no problems with the cable ... And on Windows (on the same computer) there was no such problem. What happened and how to treat it?
P.S. Enough already to offer me to return to Windows!!! I want ubuntu, I'm tired of it.

See power settings. Your monitor goes to sleep to save power.

Try something like morikoff.ru/to-make-it-off-the-screen-when-watchin...
Unless, of course, there is no "turn off sleep mode" option in the video player settings.

Hello. At one time, a similar problem on Ubuntu was solved by installing Caffeine . Try it, it might help.
P.S. Didn't follow the link above.
