Why do programs disappear in Ubuntu?

Why do installing some programs in Ubuntu 18 remove others? For example, I put Brackets, VirtualBox is removed. Then I started installing VirtualBox and Brackets disappeared. What is going on?

Because they have a version conflict with curl, install VirtualBox and then install brackets via snap:
Then both programs will install fine.

apt-cache depends brackets
apt-cache depends virtualbox
into the studio
