How to make FN key work on Apple Magic Keyboard, Ubuntu 18.04?

I can't get the FN key and FN+F* shortcuts to work.
Keys F13-F18 Ubuntu identified, they turned out to be configured. But F19, like FN, does not see any.
Advice from the internet doesn't help because /sys/module/hid_apple doesn't exist.

$: ls /sys/module | grep hid
hid
hid_generic
mac_hid
usbhid

Nothing can be written to mac_hid.
Where to dig?
