Why do offices usually have windows 7?
Why is it usually a seven in offices? Right now, in 2020, the top ten would not be installed. Maybe the answer is obvious, but not for me

The obvious one, of course, is finance. If 7 suits, why pay again for 10.
It's money in every move. In the purchase of licenses. In the purchase of licenses for software that will no longer work on 10. In the preparation, analysis of current systems for transfer, reinstallation of programs, in additional technical support, in downtime caused by ignorance of users. Retraining users and IT on the new system. Integration of corporate systems. Solving new problems, etc. etc. Alteration of any disaster recovery can only cost ... And there will definitely be new glitches. And this is also money.
If we talk about an office of 5 people who can drink coffee for a couple of days and do nothing, then this is all almost imperceptible. And if we talk about an enterprise where a minute of downtime is the absence of payment for work, where the office is only a certain part and there are also warehouses, factories, etc., a bunch of technical systems and thousands or tens of thousands of employees, then this is a lot of money and risks . It's hard to even count them. For such projects, an external consulting company is usually invited, which deals with this, using the accumulated experience. And yet, most participants and users will curse the whole process and consequences.
And most importantly, it is not always clear why this is all ... Where is the PRINCIPAL difference between 7 and 10, that the risk of continuing to use 7 was greater than the risk of switching to 10?
Because bookkeeping suits them, because they are used to it, because there is no one and no reason to do this, etz
First, you need to buy ten.
Secondly, there is a basic rule - "Do not touch it." Why do something if everything works fine anyway?
Thirdly, the seven has certain advantages. Some software on the top ten does not work at all. Well, there are problems with the top ten itself - for example, with updates. And their solution is to buy LTSB which is clearly more expensive.
I do not agree, a timely update on this is a guarantee of security.
We have about 2k employees in the Moscow office alone. At the moment, 70 percent is already on win 10. The transition to 10k was combined with the transition to SSD in working cars. Much easier and faster to upgrade a custom car than trying to revive a 2015 win7 install. I personally transplanted 10 bukhs with a bunch of bank clients to wines. Hemorrhoids at first, then went like clockwork. Even in terms of domain policies, win10 outperforms win7.
