Why do ipad safari background images load intermittently?

There is a full page slider where each slide has its own background image. They are loaded everywhere except safari (ios safari 9.2.1) on the ipad (I have air 2), where 40% percent is not loaded. Any options why this might be?

thanks, the problem was solved by renaming the images called banner.jpg (they are in different folders, so there were several. ) maybe they were blocked by the adguard extension.

I had something similar.
1. The name of the image must be in Latin only
2. safari can't fix markup errors (Chrome can), so check all quotes and closing tags.
