Why do fonts look different on Mac and Windows?

I created a site, made it resposnsive, I go to the poppy and the custom fonts that I connect additionally look different, wide ones are narrow here and vice versa. It is impossible to check OS in css, how does anyone act in this situation? Fonts I connect different extensions, fonts work fine! Checked disabling font family.

Differently. The render is different. At least different anti-aliasing in these operating systems.
And in Windows 8 and XP, the fonts also look different.
This is fine.

On Macs, anti-aliasing is not particularly used, there are usually displays with a higher pixel density.
for example, put a hackintosh on a regular com and you will see that the difference with Windows will not be so noticeable, but with the original poppy it will be striking.

Only use fonts that are tailored for use on different platforms. Such fonts will vary less between platforms.
