Why do folders open in a new window?
Why do folders open in a new window? And this happens only in the "Pictures" folder. Everything else opens as needed, in the same window. In the properties of the folder, the checkbox is on opening in the same window. Windows updates did not solve the problem either, editing the registry did not help. There is a licensed windows 10. There are no hat programs. Why is this happening? How to fix?

Try deleting the desktop.ini file from the folder, it is usually hidden. In it, Windows stores folder settings for display in Explorer. True, in this case, all folder settings will be deleted, and not just the problematic one.
Or you can edit it - manually comment one line in this file and see how it affected the explorer. Comment - ;
Explorer caches information from the file, so after editing, you need to close all Explorer windows.
