Why do all of the top 18 keyboards on google play require unlimited internet access?

I am confused by the fact that I do not know, what if everything that I will type will be sent to the owner of the application.

I use swiftkey for everything except entering passwords, switching to google when necessary.
Swype and Swiftkey leak out only a personal dictionary for backups, it seems. I haven't traced it in detail, so I could be wrong.

The question of trust in a particular keyboard (as well as any other application with access to fs and access to the network) is rather philosophical. For where to draw the line? For some reason, people trust their native Google, swipe or pre-installed Samsung, but there is no longer a nishtyakov jbak. Strange.
