Why did the user receive an automatic refund when transferring?

Good afternoon. Just yesterday I tried to transfer $75 to a person. The person's account is quite new, it seems to have been confirmed and the card was linked. The money was not transferred immediately, but they were waiting for some kind of confirmation. I received an email with a code and a confirmation link. When I clicked on the link, PayPal asked me to enter my account password. The password is entered and after that there was a refund. Why?
