Why did the printer behave like this?

Strange printer behavior. Why did he behave like this, he practically didn’t print, sometimes he could print some crap thread by himself, the LED was constantly blinking that he was receiving data.

The question itself is how an INCORRECTLY configured network mask could cause such consequences?

Printer network settings:
IP: 192.168.30.72
Mask:255.255.254.0

Router network settings:
IP:192.168.30.1
Mask:255.255.255.0

It is quite possible that because of the crooked mask, the printer found friends with the broadcast, and the router let the broadcast go outside.
