Why did short links stop working in TOR?

Just a year ago, my TOR browser could load sites with short links like gjobqjj7wyczbqie.onion ,
or hss3uro2hsxfogfq.onion .
But now they don't want to load at all.
Only long ones like xmh57jrknzkhv6y3ls3ubitzfqnkrwxhopf5aygthi7d6rplyv... work .
The question is, is it only in my browser, or are there other browsers that allow you to load .onion domain sites with a short link?
