Why can Ubuntu freeze while running?
Good afternoon, I installed ubuntu on my home PC, and after 1-2 days the OS began to freeze i.e. it just gets up tightly, if music is playing at that moment, then it jams and the picture gets up, and only reboot saves, there is only one video card, I didn’t install any drivers after I installed ubuntu, I myself am still a novice in this matter, if someone knows what there may be a problem and some ways to solve it, please share.

Intel HD? Also Sandy Bridge, most likely?
Try x-swat, if it doesn't help, it's easier to take another iron.
Two similar questions in a toaster with a small gap. A common problem.
I don’t know if this is the case, but there was a similar situation on a working computer: the
graphics hung up, moreover, at the moment when the player was turned on. As a result, once the computer hung during the update. When trying to complete the installation, the situation repeated itself, i.e. when there was no player, only graphics. As a result, I stuck another vidyukha, about the same price range - the problem no longer manifested itself
I got up dead on my laptop with Intel guts on 16.04, and searched for a problem for a long time until I found this: ... “If it hangs tightly on distra higher than 14.04.3, then 99% that this is due to Intel graphics. I had regular freezes after 20 - 40 - 90 min. It was decided so sudo gedit /etc/default/grub bring the line GRUB_MDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT to the following form (if nothing was added) GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash intel_idle.max_cstate=1" Save, close. sudo update-grub And reboot. The problem should disappear if Intel HD is to blame. "... IT HELPED ME. I specifically drove for a week without reloading the video in the chrome browser.
