Why can't visual studio code see the scss syntax?

A few weeks ago I studied website layout. Today I opened the project and found that VSCode swears at the scss syntax. Does not know comments, variables and nesting. At the same time, the compiler regularly collects the css file.

At the bottom right, you should write CSS or Plain Text, or SASS. Install SCSS.
Seriously, white theme?
