Why can't the user's PC see the shared printer if it pings and a homegroup is created?
Good afternoon,
There are 2 PCs on win8.1 in the same network.
The first (Server roughly speaking) is connected to the printer.
The second one (the Client roughly speaking) is connected to the server
. It pings with each other.
A working group has been created where everything is allowed, the
printer is marked as shared.
The server PC is printing.
The client does not see the printer via " Add Printer ".
It also does not work through a search by name \\user-pc\printername
What could be the reason?

"Network and Sharing Center" - "Change advanced sharing settings" - for the current profile must be enabled:
Network discovery, File and printer sharing, Sharing with password protection.
If this is enabled, but the printer is not visible, try disabling the firewall and check if the printer is available. If the printer appears without a firewall, then you need to look at which of the rules blocks access and adjust it accordingly. After the experiment, turn on the firewall.
