Why can't the mouse cursor be placed in the input field in Safari on the iPhone?

Installed a facebook comments widget on the site - some iPhone users (not all, but only some) cannot write a comment in this widget and even the pointer cursor is not placed in the input field.
Has anyone encountered this?
