Why can't install debian10/centos8?

Mainly Win admin, sometimes centos. I'm trying to switch fully to linux for learning, mastering and using, leaving win as an error in use as a last resort, and not vice versa as it is now.
I installed debian10 buster xfce on the laptop for reasons: a home computer, less hemorrhoids, more community and, it seems, more software. I wanted to try the same steam, although I rarely play games.
I'm still putting it on PC.
On the PC, the problem during installation error:

configure the package manager. installation step failed. an installation step failed. you can try to run the failing item again from the menu, or skip it and chose something else. the failing step is configure the package manager

How many times have I not tried after choosing a mirror, it seems like the installation is going on, and then I run into this error.
I'm more used to centos, so I decided to try to install it on a PC. It has another problem - local media is not visible at all.
With a PC, I want to spit and reinstall win10, if I can’t figure it out.
From linux I don't want to use anything other than debian, centos. Briefly explain to myself. Debian is the father of all subsequent crooked, unstable distros of mint, ubuntu and the like. I see no reason to use something else if there is a root, up-to-date and updated debian in the context of deb systems. Behind centos is redhat, an open-source RHEL clone distribution for serious people who don't want to mess around with bugs on stable versions of distributions.
