Why can't I register with Maltego?

I actually installed a 32-bit Kali Linux image - I decided to run the maltego program - registration is required there at the first start - but after I click on the register link - I am thrown to the main page of their site and that's it. Checked on another laptop - the same story. what am I doing wrong? Or registration stopped working for them?
