Why can't I downgrade the firmware?

So I’m wondering, for many phones (smartphones) you can’t downgrade the firmware version, otherwise the phone is a “corpse” which is then almost impossible to restore. Why?

backward compatibility. Newer versions can digest data from older ones, the reverse is not true.

Officially it is impossible, but 90% of handsets and devices have a “downgrade”. The official refusal of such an operation is most likely due to the impossibility of transferring user settings to the “old” firmware + the manufacturer’s deep confidence in the formula: “new = safe”.

who told you this?? phones are sewn without problems on the firmware that is intended for them, and above or below it is purple. According to smarts, I also think there shouldn’t be any special problems (unless there are “knockers” like when flashing iPhones)

Very often, the entire ROM image is not included in the firmware update, but only individual updated modules. Moreover, in the previous firmware there may be some modules, and in the new one - others.
For good, if there are a lot of firmware, then you need to start from the first reference one and gradually flash one after another, stopping at the right stage.

It's the same with the degrees when drinking alcohol. If you lower it, it will only get worse in the morning. So just raise, and nothing else.
