Why can't I create animation in Unity 2D?

The first time I tried to throw sprites in there, it worked out, I left the animation for a while, went back into it after a while and this thing. Help me please. I've looked all over the forums and there's nothing about this anywhere.

Because you have to read what is written. You don't have the object you want to animate selected.
