Why can't I change the user/permissions of a file on an external SSD on a Mac?
Good afternoon. The situation is as follows: I use an external SSD drive on my Mac, go into it through the terminal, create a file, try to change its rights and user - and no reaction, no errors, nothing, it just ignores my commands. If you transfer the same file to the desktop and do similar manipulations with it, everything works there
The file system on the SSD is exFAT (as shown by Tuxera Disk Manager)
On the native SSD of the poppy, the APFS file system
Below are my actions on the command line:
MacBook-Pro:Desktop rk$ cd /Volumes/SSD/mysql
MacBook-Pro:mysql rk$ cd settings
MacBook-Pro:settings rk$ ls -l
total 1024
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rk staff 0 27 фев 23:23 1.txt
MacBook-Pro:settings rk$ sudo chown root 1.txt
MacBook-Pro:settings rk$ ls -l
total 1024
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rk staff 0 27 фев 23:23 1.txt
MacBook-Pro:settings rk$ sudo chmod 0644 1.txt
Password:
MacBook-Pro:settings rk$ ls -l
total 1024
-rwxrwxrwx 1 rk staff 0 27 фев 23:23 1.txt

The exFAT file system does not have file permissions.
chmod for this fs is meaningless.
when mounting exFAT, the driver exposes Unix rights to files and folders by reading the mount options - they are the same for all files and folders on the partition.
and what for from whom of a line if it is possible to make it in GUI.
