Why can't ftp connect in nautilus?
Hello.
How I try to connect:
1) I open files and in "other locations" I type the ftp address in the "connect to server" field.
2) I open files and in the address bar I type the ftp address.
3) In the terminal I type nautilus ftp-address. This option is the same as the first one, but you can enable nautilus debugging.
Result 2:
1) Exactly 5 minutes later, a connection to the server occurs.
2) After 10 minutes, the connection does not occur. That is, about 10 minutes pass, fm asks for the necessary information (login or login + password, depending on what I specify in the connection). Then we see an error like "unexpected end of stream".
At the same time, there was an error associated with simba before: I connected using 3 options and after these 10 minutes in the terminal there was an error like this Called "net usershare info" but it failed: Failed to execute child process “net” (No such file or directory). Google prompted to install "samba-common-bin". This error is gone.
What patterns I noticed: the connection result (we connect after 5 minutes or not after 10 minutes) depends on the hosting / ftp server. Tried several hosting - the result is different, but constant. The nautilus debug shows nothing: at the beginning of the connection it is empty, and the result of the connection is either Finished loading window for uri ftp-server (when successfully connected), or Finished loading window for uri other-locations:/// (when the connection is unsuccessful).
