Why browsers zoom is not easy to read?
I love reading articles in large print. And I don't like looking at small symbols.
Modern computers are so powerful that they render mega-realistic 3D graphics and work wonders.
And while reading an article on geektimes (example), I'm trying to make the font bigger, increase the zoom. As a result, it is not convenient to read, because the text of the column does not fit in the width of the display.
I download other browsers. None of them is able to solve this problem. (Except ancient opera, which has FitToWidth).
Yes, there are crutch extensions that re-render the page, changing the layout. But damn, dudes, what the fuck? It seems to be a difficult task.
Actually the question is: why does this happen? Why is there no modern browser that can make reading a web page comfortable?Where is the WEB going?

Browsers are doing fine. It's just that GT has min-width, which interferes with block compression from a certain point. And the browser obeys this property and does it right. And if GT had a full-fledged adaptive layout, everything would be fine. If the user does not care about the design of the site, there is a special reading mode for this.
