Bitrix is not a bad platform for developing web sites. Includes all necessary functionality. Convenient editing of content from the public part, simple use of components. And yes, marketing, large companies will prefer commercial licenses over free ones. A huge plus is the marketplace, where there are thousands of ready-made components. The company also organizes regular webinars where it tells how to improve your store.
I made about 20 different projects on Bitrix and I can say that this CMS is far from worse than others. It seems to me that the haters who constantly complain about Bitrix are either low-skilled programmers or framework fans.
