Why Asus X550C laptop freezes?

The laptop periodically freezes and does not react in any way until you press the shutdown button.
I thought that this could be due to overheating, but now, without working all day and turning on once, it hung up twice in a row.
Windows is still 8.0, maybe because of this. I cleaned it with antiviruses, but apparently that's not the point. Help, I've been suffering like this for a month now, I don't know what to do.
