Why are Zoneminder event notifications not working?

Hello. There is a server running Debian 8, Zoneminder is installed. It is necessary to organize an e-mail notification about an event that has occurred - the motion detector is triggered. There are several instructions on the network, the essence of which boils down to the fact that the ZM mail subsystem does not send letters directly through mail, mutt etc, but in some cunning way uses the /usr/bin/zmfilter.pl file, which contains the sending parameters. But the configuration according to no instructions did not lead to a result - notifications do not go away, despite the fact that the mail is configured and working. Please share your experience if someone managed to defeat Zoneminder in terms of sending notifications.

Issue resolved. The problem was that you need to use ssmtp, not msmtp.
