Why are white spots on a laptop dangerous?

Hello. Such a situation: I bought a laptop in a store, a second-hand laptop. They gave me 14 days to check. After a couple of days, I noticed spots on a white background (there was a multi-colored pack of pictures on the splash screen, they were not visible), googled it, identified it as dead pixels. In 3 places, different sizes. I ran a program for "recovery", even it didn't really help, you can say at all. The seller offers to replace the matrix from another laptop (I don’t know for sure from which one, but it’s probably worse) Tell me what is better to do in this situation: agree to a replacement or refuse and look for another one? White spots, can they get bigger or stop glowing at all?

Definitely change the laptop completely. Why do you need obvious problems in the future?

Refuse. You never know what genesis these spots may be spreading. Especially a used laptop.
