Why are UpWork customers demanding Bootstrap?
Hello!
I have been monitoring WEB development projects on UpWork for quite a long time and very often I meet the requirement to use Bootstrap in my work. For my part, I don’t see the point in this technology, since it’s very rare to develop template sites, so using Bootstrap only complicates everything without any advantages.
Q: If I use only the Bootstrap grid, will this work for the customers? Or do they need all those boilerplate styles?
I would be glad to hear the personal experience of those who have worked with similar clients.

I am a customer who asks to use Bootstrap and using only the grid does not suit me. Because this is a complete standardization, non-professional layout designers can modify your layout in the company, and if they need to add a button, they do this:
And if you need a mistake, they do this:
copal answered correctly - this is a guarantee of future support and in the future I plan to implement BS in absolutely all the projects that I do.
Everything is simple! I think what you do, as long as your arms are straight, will be supported after you. And developers don't have to learn your css code to insert another column, resize another grid column, etc. many people are already familiar with the Bootstrap documentation, and those who are not, I can read it.
Plus, they don't ask you to fully use it. To describe general things, why not. Use a grid, a menu, a couple of plugins and you're done.
I personally don't use it. For myself, I wrote a framework a long time ago, which I always improve as needed. But I also use some bootstrap plugins. Modal windows, drop-down list and tabs (tabs). All!
Just cut out everything you don't need and leave what the project requires. And the customer is satisfied and it's easier for you
Overloading or extending a CSS framework is unproductive. Even though I make mistakes all the time.
Productive - use a template engine, and not engage in constant re-layout of statics.
I had a strong feeling that this is largely a tribute to fashion. Like I have the fifth iPhone, I want the sixth, because it came out and everyone wants it. Further, I met its use in large projects, but not for styles, but for tabs (this is generally sacred, well, it’s really convenient) and other elements with all sorts of data-toggle, data-trigger and other words starting with the letter t.
