Why are there so few Android apps with a good interface compared to iOS?
Yesterday I watched the “you_know_what” presentation and was amazed by the interface of the built-in and not quite software. I googled a little, and realized that the situation is such that there are a lot of beautiful applications on iOS, and not just beautiful, but simply awesome.
I myself am the owner of an android phone and tablet, and I have almost never seen really beautiful programs for this OS. The software interface is usually built on standard elements, and all programs are similar to each other.
The question is not for the sake of holivar, but still - why is this situation?

I suspect that the point here is that there are simply orders of magnitude more applications for iOS (now there are about 250 thousand) than for all other mobile platforms. Naturally, 95% of them are garbage and slag, but the remaining 5% are those very beautiful masterpieces that hang in the tops of sales, about which gizmodo and engagement write and which, most likely, you saw yesterday =) And 5% of 250000 the figure is still quite large.
As for the guidelines, they certainly exist, but not everyone follows them, and censors often turn a blind eye to this. In order not to be unfounded - here is a classic example of a terrible application interface from the AppStore - Navitel .
PS And one more reason - applications from the App Store (if they are popular) really bring money to developers. So it makes sense for them to spend money on a normal designer.
orders of magnitude moreStraight with a sickle in the ear. What "orders"? The number of applications for Android has long exceeded 100,000, about one . And here
applications from the App Store (if they are popular) really bring money to developers. It's true, the return on money from Android apps is much lower. That's why they don't try.
Probably because for iOS there are a lot of free interface elements on the web, and for Androyd I found only a couple of archivers with icons and panels.
Not everyone who wants to write apps has design talent or a designer friend, so using pre-built elements helps in developing good interfaces.
