Why are there no spaces in the project after removing br?

Hello everyone, I'm slowly typing the layout. It was necessary to separate the text using br in the mobile version
, and remove these hyphens on the tablet and above.
I decided to do it with display: none, but along with the transfers, the spaces in these places were also removed. When I already wanted to write here, I uploaded pen to the code - it turned out that this code feels great there. What did I do wrong, can anyone tell me? :D
