Why are there no robots.txt and sitemap.xml in the WordPress site directory?

Good day!
The site has the Google XML sitemap plugin installed - but there is no sitemap.xml file in the site directory, and there is also no robots.txt file.
Also installed SEO by Yoast - can the Yoast plugin remove these files or transfer them?

In your case, Yoast generates both Robots.txt and probably sitemap.xml
If you wish to make changes to these files, you can create the files manually in the folder. Created files will have priority.
1) You can take the content of your site/robots.txt as the basis for robots.txt
2) you can manually generate sitemap.xml and add it to robots.txt and upload it to Webmaster Yandex/Google.

Try going to
your site/sidemap.xml
Does anything come up? If yes, you can download your site files and go through them with "file search" notepad++, I think you will find where the answer is closed.
You can find out if a plugin is affecting by disabling that plugin and seeing what happens.
In my practice, there was a case with the hostcms engine, it generates robots when it is requested. At the same time, the file did not physically exist.

My sitemap was generated by the xml sitemap generator plugin and is located in the root of the site. When accessed, the site address / sitemap.xml loads it without problems. There is also robots.txt in which the sitemap is registered. But Yandex Webmaster flatly does not want to see the sitemap. What to do? How to diagnose the problem?
