Well, the icons in the Google search results are not displayed in any browser.
Just recently, Google announced the display of icons as an experimental feature to help users find the site they need faster. But like any experimental feature, it is being tested on a limited audience. If you have previously seen icons in Google in another browser, then you just got into the number of participants in the Google experiment on a particular browser.
