Why are session variables not visible in chrome dev tools in the
Application / Session Storage / site.name tab

Shl. I work with php and before, it seemed like the data from the session was displayed in the developer tools ...?

do not confuse php session and https://developer.mozilla.org/ru/docs/Web/API/Wind... - these are completely different concepts.

sessions are stored on the server side, and the client only has a cookie with a session ID
