Why are redirected Xerox printers considered to be loading the server? Myth or reality?

My network is in a subdomain of a larger network. On my server (windows 2012 R2) I easily picked up a redirected Phaser 3160B printer via TC / IP, it prints without problems from an RDP session. There was a need for the printer to print from the RDP session of the server of the higher domain. And then some kind of nonsense began ... The administrator of the second server cannot hook up the printer due to problems with the drivers and the high load of Xerox printers on the servers ....
Is he a parasite and powders my brain or what?

Hook it up via ScrewDriver, it has its own remote printing protocols, with redirection of buggy printers and drivers it helps a lot, but I don’t hear that copiers are buggy in RDP, this usually happens with the latest samsas and canons, and copiers and xp have always been famous for their normal work. Well, if only for old models they didn’t stop cutting drivers for new systems.
