Why are recurring payments dangerous?

Hey! We provide a ticketing service for events. Everything is according to the law, we issue checks, we send a ticket to email. We want to add recurring payments (that when you re-purchase, do not enter card details and do not go through 3D secure).
One thing confuses - none of the competitors use this. Everyone is trying to somehow pervert, such as MasterPass, etc., but they don’t use recurrent payments.
What's the catch? Are they really that dangerous to use?

@Zarom

when re-purchasing, do not enter card details

It seems to me that because you do not have the right to store this data, otherwise you become a processing center (which also cannot store card data for longer than the minimum required period, by the way) and your software, server hardware and employees must follow the PCI DSS standard. Also, it will be necessary to undergo an annual audit and confirm its compliance with the PCI DSS standard. The game is not worth the candle, unless someone offers you this servant. For example, MasterPass.
