Why are it conferences so expensive?

What exactly is the money spent on tickets for 10-30k? Speakers get hundreds of thousands? Is renting space that expensive? Or is someone purposefully making money on them?

I suspect this is primarily such a filter for the public. The orgs just want to weed out the students and bring in representatives from big companies and so on. Well, that is, the high price primarily sets the format. And then it pays for the buffet and the rent of the hall. Although inviting a serious speaker is also an expensive pleasure.

The price goes to the income level of conference attendees. Go to a conference for the homeless, they are free, and even feed)))

It's all about the "elitism" of what is happening. Most often, attending such conferences is a bonus that the company gives to its developers, such as go to a conference for a couple of days, chat with the guys, trade a face, get drunk, and so on.
If you approach from the point of view of informativeness, then you watch the recordings of such conferences - they often tell some banal things there, or they talk about the size of their pussy like "but we decided to do some kind of wild thing, and we did it!"

Eurekas pay mostly. $500 is not much. This is a normal price for the organization. I know networking equipment that costs $4,000 a week or $20,000 two weeks to train. And also I know people who studied at such courses.

A well-established price for any product or service is determined by effective demand. In other words: conferences cost so much because there are enough people willing to pay the price.
