Why are images from another domain loaded when loading a site page?

There is a site planted on wordpress. Some pages on the site take too long to load (it can take about 20-40 seconds), I noticed that if the page takes a long time to load, then a bunch of thumbnail images are loaded from some news portal, which increases the number of requests and, accordingly, the time it takes to fully load the page . I noticed this only on the pages of articles, where in the middle of the text there are images that I took from the Internet (maybe it’s stupid, but for some reason it seemed to me that it was in them, but what if it was, what should I do?). The second option is some kind of plugin naughty and loads, but why then does it not work on other pages other than a specific type? Website hacked, but see previous question <– ?
At the same time, these images are sometimes loaded sometimes not? What makes me think of some kind of virus/worm (I'm not very good at terminology), but why doesn't it work on other pages, unlike a certain category?
Where to dig, what to check?

Wordpress engine is full of holes, it's no secret to anyone. And a bunch of viral plugins do not add respect to him.
Try disabling plugins one by one - most likely one of them loads. In my case, the autotag plugin slowed down. And also all sorts of minimizers, script concatenators also add a headache.

Hello!
It is difficult to name a specific reason, but the following options are also possible:
1) You copied news (records or just a picture) from other sites and pasted it onto the site. Accordingly, the pictures refer to an external resource.
2) You are parsing news and a similar situation is being considered above (maybe the parser is not working correctly)
3) You are importing news from the RSS feed to the site
4) You installed the left premium plugins and along with it a bunch of malicious code. Please note that sometimes such posts, links and other information are displayed to an unauthorized user or to a NOT admin. Those. if you are logged in as an admin, then you will not see this code in the source, and if you log in without authorization, you will see links. (This is why sometimes the news is loaded, and sometimes not).
Install the Wordfence plugin and crawl the site. Sometimes various malicious code is disguised as system files of the WP... something like wp-cd.php, etc.
Also try to do the following - if you installed the left premium plugin, then study the files of this plugin. Usually, most malicious code is initiated in the main file, but there are cases when this code is initiated in other internal PHP files.
But I looked through your pages and don't see anything like that.
