Why are image files not showing up?

Hello, recently I began to notice that there are frequent cases when I save several pictures from the Internet to the desktop, half of them are simply not visible, in general, there is no shortcut until you click "update". With what it can be connected?

As the simplest, first enable viewing system files in the folder properties. And if there are two desktop.ini files on the desktop , they need to be deleted.
If this does not help, try changing the Dontrefresh =1 value to 0 in the registry
Step by step, it looks something like this - in the registry editor, find the branch:
The required registry branch in the 64-bit version looks like this:
Right-click on the CLSID hive in order to find the dontrefresh value. For a quick search without scrolling, use the Find... command from the right-click context menu. Often it is simply not there. But when you find it, check: its value should be 0, not 1.
If this key exists, then you will most likely find it in folders (depending on the bitness of your Windows):
and
If nothing, then the path:
will have to be created completely.
First, create a partition named {BDEADE7F-C265-11D0-BCED-00A0C90AB50F}
Immediately create another partition named Instance
On the right, create an XWORD parameter named dontrefresh and give it a value of 0 .
We reboot.

Explorer bug, in Windows 10 I often encountered this. Sometimes Explorer unsubscribes from changes to files on the desktop. It is treated by restarting explorer.exe through the dispatcher.
