Why are both the BSSID and SSID set in the Probe Request?
The situation is this: I watched Wi-Fi traffic in monitor mode and noticed that a small number of devices send in the Probe Request not only the SSID of the access point to which they want to connect, but also the BSSID of this access point. I understand that there is nothing wrong with this, but I don’t understand why not all devices do this, but only some, and why does everyone else send only the SSID or a completely Wildcard Probe even without an SSID? What does it depend on?
