Who uses the ethernet-rs232 converter?

There was a need to connect to the switches remotely through the ethernet-rs232 converter. The switches are visible, but in the console it seems that the typed text is being repeated, so even entering the switch using a login-password cannot be done. Has anyone come across this issue and have a solution?
