Which website hosting is better Linux or Windows?

Hello everyone! I asked myself this question. I want to start several blogs, but I don’t know on which hosting. Tell me which of the Linux or Windows hosting will be better and more reliable and stable in operation? Interested in specific information and all + and - of each hosting. Who worked and who know how to choose the right one?

PS Does it matter if the hosting is located in your own country or in other countries, such as Germany or France?

Short answer: 99 out of 100 cases, Linux.
Windows is usually needed if appropriate solutions are used (eg .net).
Not really. If hosting, for example, in Asia, there may be a long ping (~ delay). But usually there isn't much of a difference.
Well, pay attention to legal restrictions. See data retention law.

The one (on that stack of technologies and OS) that your system administrator understands better will work more stable. If this person is supposed to be you, then there will be no difference - start with some.

There are already several comments that, they say, it doesn’t matter. I agree: if no one visits the sites and there is nowhere to put the money spent on Microsoft services, then yes, it doesn’t matter!
