Under the poppy, if my memory serves me, Parallels has good virtualization. Under Linux, I would suggest QEMU and KVM.
I also tried kvm, qemu, xen, virtualbox.
For the convenience of working with a virtual machine and settings, there is no better virtualbox.
My Linux virtual machine works with a separate hdd on a straight line without stopping, always stable. I recommend staying on virtualbox, why:
1. convenient user interface
2. you can run a virtual machine without a graphical shell
3. stable drivers
4. stable operation in general
I have no problems with virtualbox at all. I am using archlinux.
